Hairdos can be helpful but nothing can beat a caring heart. Remember, “The Lord looks at the heart," and loves you no matter how you look. There are 7.4 billion people of all sizes, shapes, colors and complexions in the world. It’s a miracle that no two are exactly alike so don’t compare yourself to others or try to imitate them, be yourself. Strive to look your best, but don’t try to be perfect. It is impossible for the average person to achieve the outward beauty presented by the media using gorgeous models to “youthenize” people and sell products. Maxwell Maltz, a pioneer plastic surgeon, discovered that he could make people look good on the outside, but they often still felt like a black hole on the inside. Inner beauty is a fundamental necessity for stable emotional health. Our outward appearance is important. We should do everything we can to maintain or enhance it, but it doesn't matter how pretty or handsome a person is on the outside if they are selfish, greedy, unkind or dishonest, they are not beautiful. It’s a terrible burden to be attractive on the outside, but to lack the inner beauty which comes from faith in God. That’s probably the major reason why the careers of many movie stars, professional athletes and talented individuals are sadly ended by substance abuse or premature death.ĭr.
